How many tribe members have made a visit to dealers to order?
I am interested to see feedback from the tribe regarding how much the dealers were able to provide in the way of solid information and (as of this week) real prices. I also think it would be interesting for us to mention the trim level and transmission that each is seeking. I will start it off by declaring I have taken action to order a flame blue hatchback SES, manual trans. No car wraps decals. I am ordering early as possible.
Congratulations on your order. Did you use the online reservation process or did you just get with your dealer? And............do you know when you will take delivery yet?
The reservation thing will not get anyone a car. It will also not get anyone a car sooner than around mid June. I thought that maybe this would be the case. The reservation gets us Sync and sound for free. Thats nice enough. But I was really wanting to get my Fiesta delivered prior to the start of the solo season here in the midwest. The chances of me going to Topeka for the nationals is ZERO, nada, zip if I don't start on time. This is the reason for my impatience with a long lead time and all the blah, blah, blah. It's great to see Kenny B fly through the air in his Fiesta, but then again, it aint really a fiesta. It is a hand built, custom chassis with very, very little that is Fiesta about it. Including what has gotta be at least a 120k cost.
I don't quite understand what you are asking. But, Solo is the same as Autocross. Basically a timed event like a drag race, only you must negotiate a course that is laid out with little orange cones. It is fun. It is alot like dragracing in that you will stand around, work on the car(and help chase displaced cones) and spend the whole day for just a few minutes of actual driving. I really enjoy open track days and road racing more but this is what is doable for me with this car, at this time.
Yeah. I guess so. This is going to be one strange trip. I have actually ordered stock suspension bushings and one front and one rear strut for dimensional reference purposes. I have not figured out what if much of anything can be done with the Beam rear axle in the way of any upgrade.
